Originally introduced at NeoCon, the six-textile collection features upcycled polyester yarn made of marine and post-consumer plastic from the SEAQUAL Initiative -- which transforms ocean litter into recycled plastic. Sourced and manufactured entirely in the United States, the collection’s reduced carbon footprint and recycled materials respond to growing demand among designers for environmentally- responsible textiles. Globally, the textile industry is responsible for 10% of carbon emissions and 20% of water pollution. Piggybacking on the new collection, Pallas Textiles, Valdese Weavers, and design studio Limn & Loom have each pledged a portion of proceeds from In Good Company to the SEAQUAL Foundation. The move differentiates them from other manufacturers with SEAQUAL yarn products.
“We are particularly proud of the In Good Company collection, which embodies our commitment to environmental stewardship and innovative design,” said Dean Lindsley, Vice President of Pallas Textiles. “This collection not only offers beautiful, high-quality textiles but also contributes to the vital mission of ocean conservation, with a portion of the proceeds from In Good Company sales directly supporting the SEAQUAL® FOUNDATION. We look forward to sharing this sustainable initiative with the design community.”
